This collection contains ELRC research that works with critical theories and critical realism. The collection covers four generations of critical theory, and includes work in basic critical realism, as well as dialectical critical realism and meta-reality. It also includes studies that focus on critical realist inspired morphogenesis, and the Context-Mechanism-Outcome (CMO) configurations typical of critical realist evaluations. Additionally, it includes studies that advance critical eco-pedagogies and critical decolonial praxis, as well as resonance pedagogy which addresses alienation and is part of a fourth generation of critical theory. It also covers work on transformative praxis in education, and critical decolonial and regenerative theories, including critical African feminism. Other methodologies include practice theory and the theory of practice architectures. Overall, this body of work advances critically reflexive research in the field of environmental education.
