- Description
- THE MAROWITZ HAMLET : Directed by Floyed de Vaal for the University of Stellenbosch Drama Department. National Arts Festival, Grahamstown, July 2004. LAURENCE WRIGHT This was a brave and, on the whole, successful production of a difficult and highly cerebral text. The challenge of the play is to make it speak to a broad audience. Marowitz's experiments with Shakespeare in the 60s were conducted originally in small London theatres before some of the most sophisticated, literate audiences one could hope to find.
