Garnet Tuberville, in photo, in 1956 when it was about 220 mm tall. Thus about 21 years in photo, 1977. Diameter of trunk 1 metre from ground - 51 mm with tree 2,1 m. tall. A second was planted by the Turbervilles at the same time on the east side of the house. In April 1977 this was 2,4 m. tall with a bold diameter of 52 mm. The saplings were brought from a small forest patch on Highlands farm at the back of Highlands mountain and next to Carl's Rust.”

Holland in a matchbox. The kaffirboom seedling was not much larger. The photo taken 1977, shows the trees after 42 years growth. The bole diameters at 1 m from the groumd were - Y'wood = 784 mm; the Kaffirboom = 1, 219 mm”
