- Description: A description of the geochemistry of tungsten is given. The geochemical properties of tungsten have a strong influence on its mineralogy, distribution and abundance in crustal rocks and rock-forming minerals , and its migration/deposition within the ore-forming and supergene environments. The behaviour of tungsten during migration, from source to site of deposition, within the crust is discussed in some detail and environments considered favourable to the concentration of tungsten ore minerals are suggested. All major types of tungsten ore deposit are described with emphasis placed on those of greater economic importance. Characteristic features of each type of deposit are particularly emphasized in order to provide clear guidelines to exploration. Hydrothermal, pyrometasomatic and stratabound tungsten deposits present themselves, economically, as the most important exploration targets. The recently developed concept of syngenetic stratabound tungsten mineralisation is outlined. Exploration for deposits of this type should be aimed predominantly, but not exclusively, at volcano-sedimentary sequences of Lower Palaeozoic age, particularly within regions known to contain occurrences of Sb and Hg. Tungsten deposits commonly contain concentrations of one or more of the following metals: Sn, Sb, Bi, Mo, Au and Ag. Unlike the Trinitarian and Christological doctrines, the atonement was never a major issue in the early ecumenical councils. This central mystery of the faith, which speaks of the restoring of the relationship between God and man through Jesus Christ, has resisted every attempt at 'a formulation or statement in a nutshell'. Tillich has suggested that the Church's refusal to state the doctrine in definite dogmatic terms, is the instinctive recognition of the indefiniteness which is introduced by the human element. This element means that the doctrine has a subjective as well as an objective element. Since in his view the subjective element depends on the incalculable reaction of men to God's provision of a Saviour the formulation of the doctrine must remain uncertain. While we will agree with Tillich that the atonement has an objective as well as a subjective side, we cannot agree that the failure to formulate a doctrine has only to do with the uncertainty implied by the will of men. Verskeie faktore (geskiedenis, kwaliteit van digwerk of gebrek aan kwaliteit, ens.) het daartoe bygedra dat ons in die Afrikaanse Poësie vyf groot periodes het wat vrywel onbestrede aanvaar word: die tydperk van die Genootskappers (vóór 1900); die tydperk van die Driemanskap (tussen 1900 en 1920); die insinking van die twintigerjare (1920 tot 1934); die vernuwing van Dertig (1934 tot 1945); die jongste tydperk (tot 1962). Hierdie algemeen aanvaarde indeling dien ons doel. Dit is egter noodsaaklik om dit onomwonde te stel dat die geesteshouding van die digter, soos ons dit uit die gedig leer ken, van groter belang is by ons studie as die ontstaansdatum van die gedig.
