Description: To assess the impact of the recent national trends in output, investment, employment and exports on the PEU economy, it is necessary to analyse the industrial structure and, in particular, the degree of interlinkage which exists within the area's industrial system. An input-output table is a useful tool for this type of analysis since it depicts, on a highly disaggregated basis, the flow of goods within, out of and into an economy. The results of the most recent input-output study of manufacturing industry in PEU are reported by Renders (1980).
