- Description: This is said to be in part, an old traditional song of the women of his home district. "My wife is called Muchumwase and when people are angry with me I say nothing. Out of the many children in my family, there are only one or two who are of any value. My father's heart has wings, because he only cares for his own favourite among the children." Gwerure appears to be the title of a traditional tune which is well-known in the district and cannot be translated. There are many such names for old tunes, most of which have new recitative words set to their accompaniment with each generation of performers on the mbira. Topical song with mbira dza waNdau with bell, external resonator and 2 manuals.

- Description: "Hey, child-first finish your digging. The mysteries have been listening for me. Mistakes in dancing do not carry as far as home. Listen to Mutanda drum, but first finish your grinding." Greeting child of the Mudzatsa Tree. There is a double meaning in ngoma mutanda. In the first instance it means a 'mystery or 'magic' - an unknown force, and in the second the plain literal translation of the 'Mutanda drum', a conical hollow wooden drum made of Mutanda wood. "Child of Mudzatsa Tree", refers to the eerie noise of the cracking beanpods of this tree, especially at night, and a person called by this name is only half a creature, a sprite or gnome. Three topical songs with mbira dza WaNdau and deze resonator.

- Description: "I am thinking of 'Masewe' (the name by which she calls she calls him), who has gone far away." (This part is supposed to be sung by the wife) "Then (says the singer) I am doing very hard work at Kariba, working with Italians. Oh! when you see our Italian working very high, high, high (litt, sky, sky, sky) you think he is going to fall. But he does not fall and he does the job. The singer starts his song with a nostalgic remark attributed to his wife referring to him by his pet-name, but goes on to remark on his work at the Kariba dam, and then fearlessness of the Italian workmen employed by the contractors. Impresit, to erect the machinery. The riggers assembling the giant steel cranes, crushers, conveyor belts and the like, high above the valley where the dam is being built, take constant risks which are admited by their African helpers. Topical song with mbira dza waNdau.
