For purposes of the recording the singers sang each verse only once and not the usual twice each. This was recorded shortly after Katini's death. Note the variations of Katini himself now played by his son Katinyana. Fourteen years later, and twenty years after it was composed. This Mzeno was still a great favourite of the Chopi and although no longer faetured as a dance movement in the more recent Ngodo it was constantly sung for the great pleasure ut gave to the musicians and singers.
